Complementary therapies offer a holistic approach to health and, in my opinion, should be complementary to each other as well as to conventional medicine. A holistic approach takes the emphasis off the illness and specific symptoms and concentrates on the person. It allows physical, emotional, social, environmental and spiritual factors to be considered but recognises that specific symptoms provide an entry point from which the most appropriate complementary therapy can be chosen. For example, a muscle injured through a physical action may require a different approach to a muscle habitually strained due to emotional tension.
Complementary therapies encourage a willingness to take responsibility and to hold awareness for your own health, whilst promoting well being.
I offer Reflexology, Massage and Reiki. Each therapy may be appropriate for a range of conditions:
- digestive complaints such as IBS
- hormone imbalances which can affect our body’s cycles (for men and women)
- general malaise and low energy
- unhelpful sleep patterns
- promoting health in pregnancy
- recovery from operations and labour
- muscle imbalances
- muscle stiffness and tension
- postural complaints
- and improving poor muscle tone
Deciding which therapy to receive may be obvious. If it is not, please feel free to contact Yvonne to discuss or we can come to an agreement at the start of the appointment. All therapies are practised on a treatment couch.
I look forward to working with you.
